Margaret Feehan, a former resident of Massapequa and Amityville, at 94

 

 

Margaret Feehan, a former resident of Massapequa and Amityville, died Nov. 18, 2021. She was 94 years old.

Mrs. Feehan was born in Brooklyn Dec. 26, 1926 to Margaret and James Helbock. She attended Girls High School in Canarsie, Brooklyn and later married Raymond Feehan.

The family moved to Massapequa where they raised their family and in the mid 1980s relocated to Amityville. She and her husband spent winters in Palm Harbor, Florida and moved there permanently in 2000.

Her granddaughter Melanie described her as a warm, loving woman who loved baking and sewing.

“Every day she would bake a cake,” said her granddaughter. “She had the warmest heart in the entire world, was extremely caring. For her, family was everything.”

Mrs. Feehan was predeceased by her husband Raymond and her son Keith, as well as by her sisters Rose Ortega and Agnes Helbock. She is survived by her son Kevin of Palm Harbor, her daughter-in-law Christine, her sister Carolyn McCarty of Locust Grove, Virginia, her grandchildren, Jessica Feehan and Melanie Mancini, and by her brother James Helbock of Cold Spring, New York.

The National Cremation Society provided services to the family, who will be spreading Mrs. Feehan’s ashes in February, per her wishes.
