David A. D’Andrea of Copiague, formerly a longtime resident of Babylon, died March 8, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old.
Mr. D’Andrea was born and raised in Amityville, the son of Donetta and Albert D’Andrea. He graduated from Amityville High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy.
He earned his license in Mortuary Science at Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse and in 1957 opened D’Andrea Brothers Funeral Home in Copiague, a business that he ran with his brother Richard for more than thirty years.
Mr. D’Andrea is survived by his wife Lee Ann of Copiague; his three daughters, Mary Joy and her husband Daniel Oill, Donna and her husband George Cornell and Lisa and her husband Kriss Gulbrandsen, all of Amityville and his son David and his wife Lisa of Copiague. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel, Jaclyn, Teddy, Olivia, Kristofer, Sophia, Lily and Reanna, as well as his brother Gilbert and his wife Meredith of Islip and his sister-in-law Virginia of Amityville.
He reposed at the D’Andrea Brothers Funeral Home, 99 Oak Street in Copiague. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Sat., March 12 at St. Martin of Tours RC Church in Amityville and interment followed at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
