WHEREAS, it is the desire of
the Board of Trustees of the
Amityville Public Library to
hold a Special District Meeting of the Amityville Union
Free School District for the
purpose of voting upon the
Library budget and electing
one (1) Trustee to the Board
of Trustees of the Amityville
Public Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, by the Board of
Trustees of the Amityville
Public Library, Town of
Babylon, Suffolk County
and Town of Oyster Bay,
Nassau County, New York,
as follows:
Section 1. That a Special District Meeting of the qualified
voters of the Amityville
Union Free School District
shall be held at the Amityville Public Library, 19
John Street, Amityville, New
York, in said school district
on the 10th day of April 2018
at 12:00 noon, prevailing
time, upon the Budget of the
Amityville Public Library.
Voting will be by ballot on
voting machines or by paper
ballot, if voting machines
are not available. Polls for
the purpose of voting will
be kept open between the
hours of 12:00 noon and
9:00 o’clock P.M., prevailing
time.
Section 2. That the proposition to be voted upon shall
be in the following form:
PROPOSITION
Shall the following proposition be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the school
district library budget, as
proposed by the Library
Trustees in accordance with
section 259 of the Education
Law, shall be approved.

Section 3. That at said Special
District Meeting to be held
on April 10, 2018, there shall
be elected one (1) Trustee of
the Board of Trustees of the
Amityville Public Library.
The term of the one (1)
such Trustee to run for the
period July 1, 2018 to June
30, 2023.
Section 4. That notice of the
said Special District Meeting, including the proposition to be voted upon, shall

GIVEN that candidates for
the office of Trustee of the
Board of Trustees of the
Amityville Public Library
shall be nominated by petition. Petitions nominating
candidates for the office

of trustee of the Board of
Trustees must be filed with
the clerk of the school district between the hours of
9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. no
later than March 2, 2018.
Forms of petition may be
obtained from the clerk of
the school district. The following vacancy is to be filled
for library trustee:
one (1) five year term ending
June 30, 2023.
Each petition must be directed to the clerk of the
district, must be signed by at
least twenty-five (25) voters
of the district or two percent
(2%) of the voters who voted
in the last annual school
district election, whichever
is greater; shall state the residence of the candidate and
must describe the position
for which the candidate is
nominated.
NOTICE IS FURTHER
GIVEN that pursuant to section 2014 of the Education
Law, personal registration
of voters is required, and
no person shall be entitled
to vote at said meeting and
election whose name does
not already appear on the
register of said school district, or who does not register as hereinafter provided,
except as may otherwise be
provided by the laws of the
State of New York. The register so prepared includes all
persons who have presented
themselves personally for
registration in accordance
herewith, and all persons
who shall have been registered previously hereunder
for an Annual or Special
Meeting or Election, and
who shall have voted at any
Annual Meeting or Election,
held or conducted at any
time within four (4) years
prior to the preparation of
the register. Applications
for absentee ballots may
be applied for at the office
of the Clerk of the District,
Park North Administration
Building. A list of persons
to whom absentee ballots

projects shall be funded in

State Governor’s Office of
Storm Recovery – Disaster
Recovery and federal funds
through Community Development Block Grants.
A project funded by and
conceived through the NY
Rising Community Reconstruction program of the
Governor’s Office of Storm
Recovery. Proposers must
comply with any and all
funding agency requirements, as well as any other
State, County, Town or local government or agency
rules and regulations. A
goal of 15% for New York
State Certified Minority
Business and 15% for New
York State Certified Women
Owned Business has been

established for this project.
Proposers must demonstrate
their good-faith efforts to
achieve these goals.
The Town will not reimburse
any individual or firm with
any costs associated with
the preparation of their
proposal.
The Town of Babylon encourages minority and
women owned businesses
to participate in all bids.
