Charger champion Eric Zeh worked his way through the field to capture the victory.
Jeremy McDermott, who also brought out the #5 charger for some fun and even led a few laps, won the final late model contest.
The “Semi-Retiring” Roger Oxee looked like he was going to run away and hide early, but a series of restarts gave McDermott the opportunity to get to the front for the victory.
In the Super Pro Trucks, Dave Koenig got a long awaited win. The 2011 Division Champ hadn’t seen Victory Lane in quite some time. As a result of the victory, Koenig and his team received a trophy and a $100 check from fellow competitor Louie Maestri honoring Maestri’s late crew chief Joe DiGangi. Maestri and his wife make this gesture every year for the final race of each season.
FROM THE PITS: Next week, I will name my 2013 Riverhead Raceway annual award winners.
