Nighttime closures along Sunrise Highway in Town of Babylon
Night time travel lane closures of NY Route 27/Sunrise Highway begin tonight, April 2 with two travel lanes closed in both the eastbound and westbound directions between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County. One lane will remain open in each direction but motorists should allow extra time or use alternative routes to avoid delays.
The closures are expected to be in effect in the vicinity of the Great Neck Road Bridge over Sunrise Highway tonight, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, April 7, weather permitting.
The closure of NY Route 27/Sunrise Highway travel lanes is needed to perform bridge work on the Great Neck Road Bridge. Emergency service providers and public officials have been notified of the travel lane closures and repair operations. Motorists are being warned in advance of these closures via portable electronic message signs. As with most road work, this operation is weather dependent and may be canceled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
