Taxi driver shot to death in Copiague

POLICE SEEKING PUBLIC'S HELP IN SOLVING MURDER

POSTED MON., DEC. 13-Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a 19-year-old taxi driver who was found shot in his car in Copiague last night.

First Precinct police officers responded to a 911 call at 5:33 p.m. in which the caller reported that a man was slumped over the steering wheel of a car parked on 42 St., Copiague.
The victim was later identified as Juan Rosario, 19, of 30 33rd St. in Copiague, and was employed by 5 Star Taxi Services in Copiague. Police said he responded to 42nd Street to pick up a fair and was driving an unmarked silver Chrysler mini-van. He was pronounced at the scene by an official from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this shooting to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
