St. Paul’s Lutheran Church celebrated 80 years in this community. More than 100 congregants dined on a lavish buffet catered by Mama’s restaurant, 922 Montauk Hwy., Copiague. All of my favorite dishes were served: chicken marsala, chicken parmigiana, baked ziti, eggplant, penne ala vodka, meatballs, sausage and peppers, salad, dessert, iced tea and coffee. We had a wonderful time.

I am a member of this church since I was a little girl. I was married there and baptized both of my children there. I sent them to Sunday School and they were Confirmed there, as I was in the 1960s. Pastor David Anglin, who has been with the Church for 12 years, officiated at the marriage of my son Leslie and his wife last year. We are truly a family.

The price of the ticket for adults, children and their families included a donation to the Heifer Project. These funds go to provide livestock for families living in impoverished areas.

We were soulfully entertained by one of our members, Mrs. Robin Larrarino, singer-songwriter and guitarist, known as Robin Eve. We had a time we won’t forget. For one hour, she gave us original songs like Kindergarten Rules, One more Try, Overtime, What is your Legacy and a very happy song she wrote for her mother called, Happy Song. I purchased her CD which is available at @ www.robineve.com www. robineve.com. Her husband supported the event with a generous contribution, and her daughter served. Joining us for the day were our former Pastor, Rev. William Carney and Pastor Roland Feickert who was our youth director before he left to become a Minister.

Come join us for Worship, Sunday, 9:30 and 11:00 o’clock p.m. and Sat., evening at 6:30 p.m. There is some other good news. My son Leslie L. Anderson-Dove and his lovely wife Danielle L. Buckhart Dove gave birth to my new grandbaby, Addison L. Dove who was born Sept. 23, 2010 at 1:37 a.m., at Plainview Hospital. Addison’s other proud grandparents are Kathy and Charlie Buckhardt of Plainview and the late Lloyd L. “Sonny” Dove Jr.
