Congratulations and a big shout out to the Lindenhurst baseball team, the West Islip Boys Lacrosse team and the Massapequa Boys Volleyball team who made first place in state rankings following games last weekend. Also taking first place in softball is Bay Shore.

There are also other teams within our readership communities that should be congratulated for doing well. St. John the Baptist ranks 6th in the state for baseball; Plainedge is in the top ten in softball as is Farmingdale for Boys Lacrosse and girls lacrosse and boys track.

We want to acknowledge these athletes and their coaches who help make their families and their hometowns proud. We applaud their hard work and commitment.
