Church had standing room only for its concert, dedicated to cancer survivor and Amityville/Massapeuqa resident Linda Hart. The event was sponsored by the church's Mission and Welfare Committee, which made a donation in Hart's name to the Sisters of Greater New York, a support group for cancer survivors that Hart founded.

The event on May 15, The Songs from the Heart for Linda Hart, brought together laymen, clergy and elected officials for a night of music that will not be forgotten, said Ellen Holliday, coordinator of the Missions & Welfare committee.

The Reunion Choir consisted of local talent hand picked by Sister Eva, a well-known soloist and member of Bethel’s choirs for 12 years. Hart received many acknowledgements for her leadership and inspiration including those from Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone, S.C. Leg. Steve Levy, Ginny Salerno, director of the LI2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. She gave her all in the soprano section and with her solo, Oh Lord, my God, bringing the audience to tears and to their feet.
