Amityville Memorial High School Junior Sancho Barrett competed at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) meet in the 55-meter hurdles, during which he came in first place in New York State. Barrett also placed second in the Federation category, losing in a photo finish. Newsday has selected Barrett as the recipient of the All-Long Island award.
