Local girls score big

Amityville High School Varsity Basketball Players Megan Eastwood, Raven Price and Melissa Marshall were recognized as members of Suffolk's League VI All- League Team. Only 20 of more than 100 players in the league received this honor. Melissa was also named to the very prestigious Suffolk County All-Academic Team. The three veteran starters helped lead Amityville to its second straight Class A playoff birth this past season.

Melissa, who will be graduating among the top 10 in her class, is going to be majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Temple University.

Senior Megan Eastwood, a top 25 graduate and outgoing Honor Society President, has committed to play basketball for The New York Institute of Technology beginning next year. She has also been awarded the T.K. Steele academic scholarship from the school and will be majoring in Biology.

Sophomore Raven Price will return next season hoping to help the seasoned Amityville team build on their recent success.
