Amityville’s firefighters, their families and friends, gathered at the main firehouse May 7 to help out one of their own. Firefighter Matt Gross, 18, is fighting throat cancer and the Fire Department’s Amityville Cares program hosted the event to raise money to offset the cost of his medical bills.
