Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Copiague last week. Police gave this account: On Tues., March 9, shortly before noon, Craig Smith was driving a 2009 Chevy van south on Great Neck Road when he struck a pedestrian crossing the street.
