The business of government should be open
Dear Editor:
On Feb. 25, while walking to the informal meeting called the Health Care Reform Summit, a reporter asked President Obama a few quick questions. After answering, he added, “I always have a plan.”
May I ask - Is our President sincere, and was his remark arrogant? That remark seemed to indicate that he was going into the meeting void of an open mind. It looked as if he was not sincerely open to debate, and that he had already made up his mind. A sincere remark would be more like, “I hope that both parties can arrive at some kind of agreement.”
When he was reminded that the Democrats had been given more time at the start of the meeting and that it should be more balanced, he replied, “I’m the President.” I find this form of behavior to be unacceptable.
If he doesn’t start to get off his high horse gently, he will be in for a hard fall.
May I add, why don’t they open all meetings in Washington with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag? Has everyone in Washington D.C. become left-handed?
