Jeanne Elizabeth Reese, a resident of Amityville, died Feb. 14, 2010 at the age of 59. She had battled lung cancer for six months. Mrs. Reese grew up in Elmont and for 40 years, she and her husband Richard lived in Levittown where they raised their three sons. Thecouple was married 40 years.

Jeanne Elizabeth Reese “She was a loving wife and grandmother, and her family was everything to her,” said her husband. Mrs. Reese worked at Nassau County Medical Center and then at A. Holly Patterson Health Care Home in Uniondale as an account clerk. She and her husband owned a home on a lake in Pennsylvania and spent their weekends there where Mrs. Reese loved bass fishing. They moved to Hidden Lakes in Amityville five years ago and loved the community, said Mr. Reese. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Reese is survived by her sons, Richard and his wife Barbara of Babylon, Scott and his wife Andrea of West Islip, and Eric and his wife Kelly of West Babylon. Her grandchildren, Hailey, Kayla, Brenden, Colin, Blake, Logan and Joy also survive her, as do her brothers, Jack of Catskill, N.Y., Jim of Kentucky and Brian of Long Island, and her sister Peg of Colorado. Her father John predeceased her. Mrs. Reese reposed at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 West Main St., Babylon Village. A religious service was held there Thurs., Feb. 18.
