Asian Beetle infestation on its last legs, but still bugging Long Island

The now famous Asian longhorned beetle – a shiny big black bug with white spots and long antenna -- has not been seen in these parts for more than a year. Sighting of the spotted beetle has been, you could say, spotty. The last known sighting of the bug was in the Village of Amityville in 2008, when just five trees were removed.
