Longtime North Amityville resident and former Amityville VFW Post Commander, Eugene C. Gibney, died Jan. 20, 2010 at his home in East Patchogue. He was 90 years old. “My dad loved Amityville,” said his daughter, Sharon Rogers. “In fact, after he moved to Delaware, he still made sure he got the Amityville Record in the mail. His heart was always there.”
