Longtime Amityville resident and mother of seven, Pauline K. Harding died Jan. 2, 2010 at her home. She was 80 years old. She was born July 17, 1929 in Huntington to Nicholas and Louise (Franz) Kreischer and had dedicated her life to her family and home. Mrs. Harding leaves behind her children, Kevin J. and his wife Nancy, Michael J. and his wife Karen, Paul W., Clare H. Nugent and her husband Kevin, Dr. Nicholas R. and his wife Jennifer, Dr. Eileen Taylor and Sally Fitzmaurice and her husband Thomas and her grandchildren, Patrick, Jillian, James, Jason, Megan, Kelly, Rachel, Sean and Kimberly Harding, Bridget, Erin and Mollie Nugent, Elizabeth and Emily Jane Harding, Pauline and Samuel Taylor and William and Katherine Fitzmaurice. Her sisters, Marie Kreischer and Katherine Mummery, also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William P. in April 2006. A prayer service was conducted at the Powell Funeral Home, Amityville on Jan. 5, 2010. Rev. Father Richard T. Stelter, pastor St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, officiated at a Mass of Christian Burial assisted by the Consolation Ministry and members of the family. Interment followed in St. Charles Cemetery.
