Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School students organized their first Spanish Heritage Celebration

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, students at Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School organized its first-ever Spanish Heritage Celebration. The event, which was a collaborative effort between the Spanish Club, Intercultural Club, and Conciencia Latina Club, included traditional foods and dances, and original student poetry representing various cultures from Central America. The students also created a PowerPoint presentation on the culture of the countries. Countries included Honduras, Columbia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
