Seaford took revenge for its defeat in the 2007 Long Island championship and beat Amityville, 34-20, in this year’s Class IV title game.
The Vikings, who lost last year’s LIC to Babylon, won their first Long Island title since 1998. Amityville made an improbable run at a championship after beating Babylon and undefeated Glenn in the playoffs, completing a strenuous run on Black Friday at Hofstra University.
While Seaford became the first school to go 12-0 in Nassau County history, the Warriors had a seven game win-streak snapped with the loss.
Andrew Alba was a main reason for the Vikings’ success, intercepting a pass and returning it 17 yards for Seaford, giving them a 21-7 lead in the second quarter. He scored a three-yard touchdown with 3:23 left in the game, too.

As Seaford attempted to put the game away in the first half, Amityville’s Robert Brooks tackled Vikings’ quarterback Rob Anderson, forcing him to lose control of the ball.
After Chris Derrick deflected it, David Kinard intercepted the ball and ran it back 46 yards for a touchdown. The game remained manageable at halftime with the Warriors trailing, 21-14.
Amityville came close to tying the contest after Mark Jerrick scored a two-yard touchdown after a 56-yard drive in the third quarter, but the Warriors trailed 21- 20.
Seaford’s Mike Gallo had four catches for 35 yards and two scores. Amityville quarterback Gavin Kretz was 9-of-15 for 74 yards and threw one touchdown.
