Levy in violation of charter
Dear Editor:
Suffolk Executive Levy has been after the Suffolk Police since he took office and has reduced police services and moral. He has done so though intimidation of the Police Unions by eliminating many police services and having the Suffolk Sheriffs take over the Police Function of Patrol of the Long Island Expressway and Sunrise Highway.
In making such change, he has violated the Suffolk County Charter C13-4, in which, in Nov. 1958, voters of five Townships approved the formation of the Suffolk Police to take over all police function of said Towns that approved the Formation of the SCPD. Levy is in violation of the Suffolk County Charter and should be stopped in the Courts from any further dismantling of the SCPD.
Robert O'Kane, Retired Sgt., SCPD
