Longtime Amityville resident, singer and community volunteer Dolores Mary Lowe died Oct. 20, 2009 at her home. She was 89. She spent many summers in Amityville as a guest in the vacation cabins that once lined both sides of the Amityville River. Later she made Amityville her permanent home and met and married her high school sweetheart.
