John Cutillo remembered
The Cutillo family is shown at the unveiling. Inset, John Cutillo
Through the hard work of Amityville Memorial High School alumni Ben Morselli and Edward Batz, a beautiful memorial was erected for the late John Daniel Cutillo. Over 75 family members and friends were present for the unveiling of the memorial plaque and garden. The memorial is located at the entrance to the football field and track. The plaque reads: “It is not the length of life, but the depth of life. He jumped into life and never touched bottom.”
Born and raised in Amityville on Margaretta Avenue, he graduated from Amityville High School in 1958 where he was an All-Island selection in both football and wrestling. He had lived on Grand Central Avenue for more than 50 years.
