Former Amityville resident Dorene Quick died Aug. 19, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. She was 66 and lived in Lindenhurst. She was born Sept. 8, 1942 in Brooklyn to Douglas and Louene (Van Buren) MacDonald and was an Amityville High School graduate. She dedicated her life to the care of her family and home.
