Amityville Soccer
Saturday October 3 - The SSI U9 Amityville Strikers took to the road again, this time traveling to Brentwood to take on the Black Falcons. Once again the Strikers were taking on a more experienced team in a higher division and once again they refused to back down. Joey Carman was a force on both sides of the ball zipping all over the field. Joseph Crema played strong defense, refusing to
be pushed around by the larger Falcons and constantly
rushing into the offensive zone. Kristian Rafsol was

fearless in net and kept the Strikers in the game, and at
the end of the day the scoreboard said the Strikers lost, ENTERTAINMENT
but the smiles on their faces told a different story.

Katirya Cardona played great defense taking the ball away from chargers with reckless abandon. William Byrne had a beautiful sliding goal, just beating the tender to the ball. For the Sting Rays, Jessica Catterson showed great ball handling skills moving the ball into the Rockets zone and was not afraid of contact in a crowd. Tiana Beuford showed a cannon of a shot and played great defense and Meghan Bonser did a great job in net.
On the adjacent field the Hurricanes and Red Bulls lined up on opposite sides of the pitch for a clash of the titans. For the Red Bulls Jeremy and Rolman Gaurdado put on a clinic exhibiting ball control and passing skills. Sky Bates went all out on offense, while Riley White was excellent on defense. Maggie Caffrey showed great discipline staying with the ball as a mid fielder and Kayla Ellis appeared to be everywhere at once with a non-stop motor. For the Hurricanes Phil Gyenis was a great on defense and was not afraid to take the ball to the house. Tara Langford showed a cannon of a shot, shooting the ball from all angles.
