Gregory and White vie for seat in 15th District
In some ways, the election in the 15th Legislative district is, in the words of Yogi Berra, déjà vu all over again. The family of the late Henry and Elizabeth Collins gathered together to celebrate 100 years in the Long Island area. Longtime Amityville resident Verner B. Unger died Aug. 28, 2009 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was 72 and had lived on Purdy Lane. He was born Feb. 5, 1937 in Copenhagen, Denmark to John and Margarethe (Jensen) Unger. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1964, after which he served 40 additional years in the U.S. Naval Reserves reaching the rank of captain. More...
