Melanie Jewel Rudnick, of Amityville, graduated from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on May 18 with a bachelor of science in chemistry (A.C.S.) certified cum laude with chemistry department and National Honor Society Awards. She is the recipient of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Grant for medical research at Lehigh, the Alpha A.Diefenderfer/ACS Analytical Award for the highest ranking junior in analytical chemistry at Lehigh, the Presidential Inaugural Scholar Conference in Washington D.C., the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, a member of the National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars and a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Rudnick will continue her education at TheNew York Medical College Class of 2013 in Valhala, New York. She plans on doing her residency in pediatrics upon receiving her M.D. Rudnick, graduated Amityville Memorial High School in 2005 and was ranked third in her class.
