“Bob was just so smart and knowledgeable,” said his friend of 37 years, Tom Small of Amityville. “He’d do the New York Times
crossword puzzle in ink, and he knew so much from reading.” According to his loved ones, he was a self-taught passionate cook who loved to play golf, go camping and write poetry. He was a lifelong New York Islanders fan and a member of the Amityville Club. Mr. Schultheiss leaves behind his son: Bryan of Scranton, Pennsylvania; his parents Carl and Emma of Dunnellon, Florida; his sisters, Patricia Biss and her husband Cary of Charlestown, West Virginia, Valerie Kuramoto and her husband Steve of Ithaca, New York and Carol Cavallini and her husband Lucio of Verona, Italy.
