TOBAY presents the Paumanauke Pow-Wow Aug. 8

The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) and The Town of Babylon announce that the 29th Annual Paumanauke Pow Wow will be held at Babylon Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst. The event will be held rain or shine, Sat., Aug. 8, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sun., Aug. 9, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Pow Wow is a celebration of the Native American culture. This event is to teach the culture and customs of the Native Americans from across the nation. This ritual gathering offers traditional Native American dancers and drums, audience participation, native food, dance competitions, quality traders and customary crafts. The "drum" is selected from different parts of the country and they lead the Pow Wow and impart a sense of decorum, as well as teaching customs.

Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages five to 12 and also seniors.
