Kiwanis Governor visits Copiague
The Kiwanis Club of Copiague recently had one of its very own new members, Guy Schaeffer installed by the New York District Governor Doreen Pellitieri. This event happened during the recent Governor's Visit to the Suffolk West Division of the New York District of Kiwanis International at the 56th Fighter's Group Restaurant in Farmingdale. The Suffolk West Division is comprised of six local area clubs including Amityville, Copiague, Huntington, Lindenhurst, North Amityville, and Northport/East Northport.
Those who attended this event heard the District Governor speak of a Kiwanis that was "beyond 11726".. That's one of the reasons that Kiwanians attend meetings, inter-clubs, divisionals, governor's visits, mid-winter conferences, district conventions, and last though certainly not least, international conventions. The major (though not exclusive) role of Kiwanis International is to help children.
Kiwanis is an organization of volunteers that is worldwide yet with local focus and dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Anyone wishing additional information regarding the Kiwanis Club of Copiague, its activities, or membership requirements can visit the web site at CopiagueKiwanis.org, or email SalPLS@aol.com, or call 631-225-1663.
