Longtime Amityville resident and loving mother Ruth I. Winn died May 24, 2009 at New Island Hospital in Bethpage. She was 81.

She was born on April 1, 1928 in Riverhead to Fletcher and Elizabeth (Banks) Booker. In addition to caring for her family and home, she was a technician at Grumman Aerospace in Great River.

Mrs. Winn leaves behind her children: Arnold R.,

Laura M. and William G.; her grandchildren: Janelle, William, Serrina, Antoine, Leon, Cedric and Rhonda Winn and Carlisle Robinson; her siblings: Carol Booker Joynes, Vivian Leonard, Raymond and Jimmy. She was predeceased by her husband, William.

The Rev. Stanley Gordon Smith officiated at the Funeral Service in Bethel AME Church, Amityville, followed by interment in Greenfield Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Inc., Amityville.
