Antoinette ("Toni") Whalen, an Amityville resident for more than 75 years, died in Virginia on May 7, 2009 at age 89. Mrs. Whalen was born in Brooklyn and moved to Amityville in 1925 with her parents, Nicolas and Genny Buono, and her siblings. She attended Amityville Public Schools and later married Jack Whalen, also of Amityville.
