Former Amityville resident Anthony S. Agostino died April 13, 2009 at Nassau University Medical Center in Mineola after a long-term illness. He was 54.

He was born Aug. 3, 1954 in Brooklyn to James V. and Vivian (Mammolite) Agostino and grew up on Matthew Drive in Amityville. For the last ten years he had been hospitalized in Uniondale.

He leaves behind his brother: James D. of Lindenhurst; his aunt: Rosemarie Tassone; and his cousins: Sal J. Tassone and Theresa V. Robinson. He was predeceased by his parents.

Father Richard T. Stelter, pastor, St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church officiated at a Mass of Christian Burial at the church assisted by the Consolation Ministry and members of the family. Interment followed in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. Powell Funeral Home, Amityville, handled all arrangements.
