Imbert, Mayor Dated: May 11th 2009 1x 5/20/09 #267-RECORD LEGAL NOTI CE\ TO THE TAXPAYERS OF THE COPIAGUE FIRE DISTRICT: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a resolution was duly adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the COPIAGUE FIRE DISTRICT, Town of Babylon, County of Suffolk, State of New York, on the 13th day of May, 2009, subject to a permissive referendum as provided for by Section 6(g) of the General Municipal Law, An extract of the resolution is as follows The COPIAGUE FIRE DISTRICT maintains a Buildings, Furnishing and Equipment Reserve Fund under Section 6(g) of the General Municipal Law in which account there is sufficient funds to accomplish the purpose hereinafter set forth; namely, the construction of new storage building at Fire Headquarters, in order to maintain the high standards of the COPIAGUE FIRE DEPARTMENT in the discharge of its duties in preserving the lives and property of the residents of the community and said work is deemed in the best interests of the residents of the COPIAGUE FIRE DISTRICT. The resolution further provides that there be transferred from the present Building, Furnishing and Equipment Reserve Fund of the COPIAGUE FIRE DISTRICT a sum not to exceed Four Hundred Thousand ($400,000.00) Dollars for said work, and the District Treasurer is authorized to effect such transfer from time to time to effect such work. This resolution shall not take effect until thirty (30) days unless in the meanwhile a mandatory referendum as provided by General Municipal Law is required to be held. NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids subject to all instructions, terms and conditions herein and pursuant to the specifications, will be received by the Board of Fire Commissioners, Copiague Fire District at Fire Headquarters, 320 Great Neck Road, Copiague, New York 11726, until 8:00 P.M., on June 10, 2009, where they will be opened publicly and read aloud after 8:00 P.M. prevailing time, on the said date for the service as specified and the contract awarded thereafter as soon as practical for the work of: DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF PRE-ENGINEERED STEEL STORAGE BUILDING FOR FIRE HEADQUARTERS Specifications, proposals and proposed contracts may be obtained at Fire Headquarters, 320 Great Neck Road, Copiague, New York 11726, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes marked "INSTALLATION OF STORAGE BUILDING" to the Office of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Copiague Fire District by 8:00 P.M. on June 10, 2009, The Copiague Fire District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid best suited for its specific needs.
