Longtime Amityville resident and devoted evangelist Hannah C. Crews, died Dec. 25, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. She was 75. She was born Feb. 22, 1933 in Oxford, North Carolina to the late Deacon William Walter Brown and Mother Vianna Brown. She graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1950 and worked as a secretary for attorney Herman Austin.
