Store Break-in

Sometime during the late night or early morning hours of Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17 and 18, someone threw a large concrete block through the windows of the Broadway Convenience store at 250 Sterling Pl., Amityville. The incident was reported as an incident of criminal mischief by the owner Hari Paul of North Babylon at 7:18 a.m. When police arrived, however, they determined that it was a burglary. Thieves apparently climbed through the large opening of shattered glass, stole several items and fled through the same opening. Police are investigating.
