The Town of Babylon Parks Department has announced its upcoming 2009 holiday weekend lottery for campers will be determined through an on-line registration. Due to the great success of the on-line registration of the 2008 Labor Day weekend, the Parks and Recreation Department is now putting all the holiday weekends on-line. There will no longer be a walk-in registration process.

On-line registration to determine who will use Cedar Marina Campground during the holiday weekends including the Town of Babylon's Annual Beach Blast this sumer will begin in March. Registration for the four available weekends are:

•Tues., March 3, 9 a.m. for Memorial Day weekend from May 22 to 25

•Tues., March 24, 9 a.m. for Fourth of July weekend, July 3 to 6

•Tues., April 7 for Beach Blast weekend, August 28 to 31

•Tues., April 21, 9 a.m. for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 to 7

Any camper wishing to register on-line will need a User ID and Password. If you do not have one already, you can come into the Parks and Recreation Department, 151 Phelps Ln., North Babylon any time after Feb. 1 to obtain one. You will not be able to participate in the on-line holiday weekend if you do not have this information. When you come into the parks department, have on hand proof of residency and your camping permit.

Note that campers can purchase a camping permit in the Office of the Town Clerk at Town Hall.
