A representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's Office spoke to 230 seniors at Amityville's Dominican Village Assisted Living Community on the topic of Advanced Medical Directives. The presentation informed seniors about how to ensure that their final wishes are honored through healthcare proxies, living wills, as well as other available means. The presentation also discussed the ways in which the Attorney General's Office can be of assistance during this difficult process. Alan Berkowitz, Assistant Attorney General from Cuomo's Suffolk Regional Office, gave this presentation. Legislator DuWayne Gregory was also in attendance.
