Judith Fay, nurse and former resident of Amityville

Former Amityville resident Judith B. Fay, who spent her career as a nurse, died Sept. 23, 2008 at Virtua West Jersey Hospital in Marlton, New Jersey. She was 64.

She was born to Edward and Ruth Binkley and raised in Amityville. She later moved to Manalapan, New Jersey before relocating to Shamong, New Jersey 31 years ago. She was described as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend by her family.

Mrs. Fay worked as a nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan, and volunteered much of her time to the Indian Mills Cub and Boy Scout groups.

She leaves behind her husband, Robert; her children, Allison J. Dorn and her husband David of West Grove, Pennsylvania; Kathleen A. Burnett and her husband Stephen of Fayetteville, Georgia; John E. and his wife Cathy of Herrenberg, Germany; Brian P. of Shamong, New Jersey; Daniel R. of Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, and Christopher J.L. of Shamong, New Jersey. Her grandchildren, Robert Dorn and Abigail, Jordan and Benjamin also survive her as do her siblings, William O. Binkley and his wife Bunny of Evergreen, Colorado; Phyllis Binkley of Dorset, Vermont, and Anne Larrouy of Stockton, California. She is also survived by her "special niece and caregiver," Cyndee Range of New York City, New York and other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Ruth Binkley.

Mrs. Fay reposed at the Mathis Funeral Home in Medford, New Jersey on Sept. 28 and 29, 2008. Interment followed at Evergreen, Cemetery in Lumberton, New Jersey.
