Anna Nuzzi, Copiague Matriarch, 87

Longtime Copiague resident and loving mother Anna Nuzzi died on Sept. 17, 2008. She was 87 years old.

Born Anna Villone in Franklin Square, she moved to Trouville Road in Copiague in 1950 and devoted her life to caring for her husband, family and home. She lived there for 58 years.

According to her family, she loved to cook and babysit her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. After going blind 20 years ago from a degenerative eye disease, she loved to listen to books on tape.

Mr. Nuzzi leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Alexander D.; her children: Dominick and Ann, Anthony and Usa, Angela and Robert Mowad and Marie and Steven Mc- Donald; her grandchildren: Denise, Dominick Jr., Malisa, Alexandria, Keith, Kristyn, Leslie and Steven; her great grandchildren: Timothy, Stephanie, Jillian, Saige and Emma; and her siblings: Nicholas Villone, Rose Young and Gloria Fordyce. She was predeceased by her brother, Victor Villone.

Mrs. Nuzzi reposed at the D'Andrea Brothers Funeral Home, Copiague, on Sept. 20 and 21, 2008. A Funeral Service was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Amityville, followed by interment in Calverton National Cemetery.
