Wonder Garden Provides Living Learning Lab
Kiwanis Club of Amityville has been a source of support, building the picnic tables and installing the irrigation system. Recently, through the Town of Babylon, Northeast students were able to use their outdoor learning lab as a backdrop for a special Youth Service Day project sponsored by the Town and Supervisor Steve Bellone. Florence Findley, director of beautification for the Town of Babylon came to Northeast to provide students with gloves and bags to clean up the Wonder Garden and plant a variety of multi-colored flowers.
Shown in the photo (middle), flowers were planted as part of the Town of Babylon's Youth Service Project. Shown in the photo (top), Northeast students were visibly proud of the responsibility they displayed in caring for their Wonder Garden and the
