Babylon annual fishing tournament
The 2008 Town of Babylon Second Annual Surf Fishing Tournament,

hosted by The Striper Surf Club, will be held Fri., Sept. 19, 6 p.m. to Sun., Sept. 21, noon in the waters from the western border of Gilgo State Park to the Sore Thumb at Fire Island Inlet. Preregistration is $10 per family. Registration on the day of the event is $20 per family. Price is for two adults and three teens/children. The registration deadline is by mail, Fri., Sept. 5 and in person Sat. Sept. 20 by noon at the weigh station which is at Overlook Beach parking lot. The award ceremony will be held Sun., Sept. 21, 1 p.m. at Cedar Beach parking lot. The event is open to Babylon Town residents and non-residents. Species include Striped Bass with a minimum size of 36 inches for adult and youth divisions and 28 inches for children' s division and Blue Fish with a minimum size five pound for adults and youth divisions and two pounds for children's division.
