Local Scholars make the news

Jessica Booth, of Amityville, has been named to the spring dean's list at Hofstra University, Hempstead. She is currently studying print journalism.

• Laura J. Vollmer, of Amity Har­bor, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Binghamton University's School of Management.

• The following local residents were named to the "A" honor roll for an average of 90 or more at Holy Trin­ity Diocesan High School, Hicksville for the fourth academic quarter: From Amityville are Philippe Calixte, Cas­sandra Dunn, Caroline Gilmore, Al­exandra Lasker, Lauren Priola and Ashley Stumpel and from Copiague is Adam Bates. Named to the "B" hon­or roll for an average of 85 or more: From Amityville is Cassandre Devot; from Copiague are Anicely Arias, Ti­yana Coleman, Michael Hartinger and Chanelle Williams and from Copiague Harbor is Anthony Giannini.

• Named to the dean's list at The University of Scranton, Scranton, Pennsylvania are the following local residents: Brittany E. Hall of Ami­tyville, Lindsay A. Manno of Amity Harbor and Kristin L. Sapienza of Copiague.

• Melanie Rudnick, of Amityville, a student at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, recently received The Alpha A. Diefenderfer/ACS Analytical Award. In addition she has been offered a position in the Biosystems Dynamics Summer Institute program at Lehigh.
