Local Scholars make the news •Jessica Booth, of Amityville, has been named to the spring dean's list at Hofstra University, Hempstead. She is currently studying print journalism. • Laura J. Vollmer, of Amity Harbor, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Binghamton University's School of Management. • The following local residents were named to the "A" honor roll for an average of 90 or more at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, Hicksville for the fourth academic quarter: From Amityville are Philippe Calixte, Cassandra Dunn, Caroline Gilmore, Alexandra Lasker, Lauren Priola and Ashley Stumpel and from Copiague is Adam Bates. Named to the "B" honor roll for an average of 85 or more: From Amityville is Cassandre Devot; from Copiague are Anicely Arias, Tiyana Coleman, Michael Hartinger and Chanelle Williams and from Copiague Harbor is Anthony Giannini. • Named to the dean's list at The University of Scranton, Scranton, Pennsylvania are the following local residents: Brittany E. Hall of Amityville, Lindsay A. Manno of Amity Harbor and Kristin L. Sapienza of Copiague. • Melanie Rudnick, of Amityville, a student at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, recently received The Alpha A. Diefenderfer/ACS Analytical Award. In addition she has been offered a position in the Biosystems Dynamics Summer Institute program at Lehigh.
