Gary D. Reavis, beloved father and grandfather His mother described him as "someone who loved to talk to people and make them laugh, and of course he loved music," said Mrs. Banks. "Even as a child, he always had earphones in his ears, was always listening to the music." His sister Laraine explained that throughout his life Mr. Reavis wanted to help people, even when he used to tease his siblings growing up. "He used to tell me all the time: RYE, respect your elders," she recalls. Mr. Reavis attended Copiague schools and landed first job at Brunswick Hospital. Although music and family were his first loves, he also enjoyed to travel and take photographs. He saw most of the country as a driver for the Mayflower Moving and Storage Company, however and between 1978-1985 he traveled to Florida, California, Las Vegas and Texas. His sister recalls that his favorite places were Florida, " because it was warm," and Las Vegas- "even though he lost a lot of money there," she said.
Mr. Reavis reposed at the Powell Funeral Home, Broadway, Amityville. A Christian mass was officiated by Rev. Dr. Robert Abbot of Holy Trinity Church, Amityville. Interment followed in Amityville Cemetery.
