Anthony Grant named Scholar finalist

Anthony Grant, a native of Amityville and a student at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, was recently named a 2008 Gilder Lehrman History Scholar Finalist. He is one of 50 students selected by competitive application to participate in the program, which is sponsored by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

This summer, the finalists will take part in a one-week program in New York City designed to honor and support outstanding students of history. The students will meet with eminent history scholars, as well as history professionals outside academia, and visit important historical archives and museums across New York City. Applicants to the scholars program this year represented 166 colleges and universities in the United States.
