Amityville Fire Department installs new officers

Voters approve local school budgets


 The Amityville Fire Department held its Annual Awards Dinner on April 5, 2008. The following Chiefs and Captains were sworn in:  Chief Harold C. Miller, 1st Asst. Chief Russell Sawyer, 2nd Asst. Chief Charlie C. Scudlo and 3rd Asst. Chief Robert Waegerle. Photo by Joe Turner

 School budgets pass

  In other news today, Amityville and Copiague School District passed their budgets. Amityville passed by a vote of 597 to 364 and Copiague, 1,095 to 755.

  In trustee races, Copiague’s incumbent Brian Sales ran unopposed and garnered 948 votes. Incumbent Rosemary Natoli was challenged by Darline Jackson and won 999, to 484.

  In Amityville, incumbents Diane Koza Egglinger and Charles Walters ran unopposed and received 606 and 607 votes respectively. Acting Trustee Lisa Johnson won her first three-year term after running unopposed. She got 663 votes.
