St. William's students celebrate Pi Day - Einstein's birthday

The National Junior Honor Society captains of Pi Day activities at St. William The Abbot School, Seaford, were Max Morin and Raul McGee. Celebrated were Pi Day and Albert Einstein's birthday. The day began with apple pie in the classroom. Billy Moulder , of Wantagh, dressed up as Albert Einstein. He visited kindergarten through third grade and distributed stickers saying "Happy Birthday Albert Einstein". The seventh and eighth grade decorated the halls with the digits of Pi. Grades four to eight wore stickers with "A Piece of Pi". The day included songs, videos, activites,and a Pi challenge, who could memorize the most digits. First place was Katie DeGraff, of Amityville, with 98 digits. She won an apple pie. Second place was Colleen DeGraff, of Amityville, with 86 digits. She won and Albert Einstein puppet. Third place was Billy Moulder with 64 digits. He won $3.14.
