100 books were read before December at St. Martin of Tours school, Amityville

Shown in the photo, Miss Savish is sitting surrounded by her class. In the back row, left to right, are Cyril George and David Baloga, next row, Jessica Tofalli, Emily Nugent, Natasha Rodriguez, Trevor Quinn and Joseph Cassidy and bottom row, Halle Norris, Justin Stark, Emma Henzy and Joan Medwig. Kyra Gilmore was absent from class that day but was a big help in reading the 100 books.
Every year Miss Savish's third grade class at St. Martin of Tours School in Amityville tries to meet the "Classrooms Care" challenge offered by Scholastic Books and read 100 books before the end of December. Again this year, the class did not disappoint; more than 100 books were read.

Since the class accomplished this goal, scholastic will donate 100 books to one or more of their charities, and will list Miss Savish's third grade class in its Hall of Fame.
