Edmund W. Miles Middle School students bring cheer to VA hospital

Shown in the photo at left, Edmund W. Miles Middle School eighth grader Hudson Woelk wrote moving tribute to Veterans, which he read during a ceremony at the Northport VA Hospital attended by Amityville students.
Students in Karen Fabian's eighth grade art class at Edmund W. Miles Middle School in Amityville have been busy creating thoughtful, artistic cards for the Veterans at the VA Hospital in Northport to show appreciation to those who have served our country. On November 9th, Ms. Fabian and her students visited the VA Hospital in Northport to honor the Veterans for Veterans Day, where they presented their hand-made cards to the grateful men after the ceremony.

During the tribute, a Veteran of WWII spoke to the audience about his experiences, and Edmund W. Miles Middle School eighth grade student from Amy Llanos' class, Hudson Woelk, shared a moving speech he wrote in which he eloquently expressed appreciation to all Veterans who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we all enjoy.
Shown in the photo are Amityville's Edmund W. Miles Middle School eighth graders in Karen Fabian's art class who spent time creating thank you cards for Veterans, which they hand delivered to Veterans at the VA Hospital in Northport.
