Local students make the grade

Matthew Horton
•Jessica Booth, of Amityville, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester at Hofstra University, Hempstead.

•Victoria E. Schmidt of Amityville, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester at Western New England College, Springfield, Massachusetts.

•Matthew Licari, of Amityville, was named to the dean's list at Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island for the fall 2007 semester.

•Jhery James, of Amityville, was named to the dean's list at Morrisville State College, Morrisville, New York. for the fall 2007 semester.

•Nicholas Wood, of Copiague, was named to the freshmen dean's list at Molloy College, Rockville Centre for the fall 2007 semester.

•Matthew Horton, of Amityville, a 10th grader at Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School was named February's Student of the Month to be celebrated throughout the month of March. To be recognized for this honor, students must exemplify academic excellence as well as character and service to fellow students.

•Named to the dean's list at the State University of New York at New Paltz for the fall 2007 semester are Michael Wengen of Amityville and Robin Glassman of Copiague.

•Williams Brooks, of Amityville, a freshman at Gettysburg Coll ege, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester.

•Michele Ann Theroux, of Amityville, received a Stony Brook Presidential Scholarship and is attending Stony Brook University.

•Two local residents received certificates of advanced study from The College of St. Rose, Albany, New York. They are Barbara Morning of Amityville and Paula Wickham of Copiague.
